Karbase has been spray painting vehicles from the same Otahuhu workshop since 2005 — single panels, full resprays, colour changes and insurance refinishing.
What we spray

- Bumpers and plastic trim, which take different primers and flex additives to the steel bodywork
- Faded or oxidised paintwork that has gone past what a cut and polish can recover
Colour matching is most of the job
Getting paint onto a panel is straightforward. Getting it to match the panel next to it is the skill.
Your car’s factory paint code is the starting point, not the answer. A vehicle that has spent ten Auckland summers outside has shifted from the code on its build plate, so we match to the car as it is today and blend the new paint outward into the adjacent panels. That gradual transition is what makes a repair invisible — without it, a technically correct colour still reads as a patch.
Preparation decides how long it lasts
Most paint that fails does so because of what happened underneath it. We strip back to a sound surface, treat any corrosion properly rather than sealing over it, prime, and let each stage cure before the next. It is slower than the alternative and it is the difference between a finish that lasts and one that lifts in two years.
How long will it take?
A single panel is usually a few days. A full respray is longer — the car has to be stripped, prepared, sprayed and reassembled, and paint needs curing time that cannot be rushed. We will give you a realistic date rather than an optimistic one, and a courtesy car is available so you are not off the road.
