Karbase is a ten minute run north of Manukau City Centre, on Great South Road in Otahuhu — close enough to be convenient, far enough out of the retail crush that you are not fighting for a park to drop your car off.
We have been repairing South Auckland vehicles since 2005, and a good share of our work comes from Manukau, Wiri and the surrounding suburbs.
What we do
We are a full panel and paint workshop, not a quick-fix operation:
- Collision and accident repair, minor through to structural
- Panel beating, panel replacement and alignment
- Spray painting with factory colour matching
- Rust repair and cut-out work
- Dent removal, including paintless where possible
- Chassis straightening on computerised measuring equipment
- Bumper repair and plastic welding — cracked bumpers and broken mounting tabs repaired rather than replaced
- Insurance repairs, managed directly with your insurer
That last one matters for Manukau in particular. Bumper damage and car park knocks around the Westfield and Manukau City Centre precincts are some of the most common jobs we see, and plastic welding a cracked bumper is very often cheaper than the replacement part your insurer’s first quote assumes.
Getting your car to us
From Manukau City Centre it is a straight run up Great South Road, or SH1 to the Otahuhu exit. We are at 2/127 Great South Road, behind the NAPA parts store.
We have a courtesy car available, so you are not stuck without transport while the repair is done — worth asking about when you book, particularly if the job is a multi-day one. We can also arrange to collect and return the vehicle.
Insurance work
If you are claiming, contact us before you commit to a repairer. In most cases you have the right to choose your own panel beater rather than accepting the first one your insurer names. We will assess the damage, quote it, and deal with the insurer’s assessor directly so you are not passing messages between two parties.
